And another thing............

Asia shares a bond with marathoners around the world. They do something human beings weren't necessarily designed to do.............run 26.2 miles. The body can't store enough fuel to run that far, so the last part is run on pure grit and determination.

Asia shares different bonds with another marathon runner.....Alex Bain of Prince Edward Island, Canada whom she has never met. Alex also has autism, and is running his second full marathon this weekend. He's hoping to beat his PR (Personal Best in Canada) of 3:29:29. AND, Alex has been chosen to be an Olympic Torch Bearer as the relay crosses PEI on the way to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics. Asia was a Torch Bearer in 1996!

All the while we are cheering for Asia and Katie, in our minds we'll be cheering for Alex too! I'll post his results later Sunday. GO ALEX GO!!!

  2. Hello: Mr. Stanek here. My daughter is student teaching at paddock. She brought this site for me to look at. Asia was great in 6th grade, she revitalized my career. It was great to see her pictures. 29 years old, Wow I am getting older.
